Mary Pierson Keating's firm focuses on helping her clients and their families Plan for Life.

 

She is the founder of Mary Keating Esq, LLC.  Previously she co-founded and was the managing partner of Tibbetts Keating & Butler, LLC in Darien, and was an attorney at IBM in business contract law.  Since 2015 she was, and continued to be,  named one of the Top Attorneys of North America by Who's Who.

 

She was admitted to the New York Bar in 1986 then to the Connecticut Bar in 1989. Ms. Keating received her JD from Yale Law School in 1985 and her BA (cum laude) in English and religion from Manhattanville College in 1979.

 

Her practice areas include estate planning and administration; elder law; corporate law, with an emphasis on contract law; real estate law, with an emphasis on residential transactions, commercial leases, and construction contracts; and divorce mediation. She also reviews employment and severance agreements for her clients.


She was appointed to the State Rehabilitation Council by Connecticut Governor Jodi Rell in 2008 (re-appointed by Governor Dannel Malloy in 2011), and served as Secretary and Chairperson. She was a speaker at the 1995 ABA Annual Meeting (“From Myth to Fact: Working with Disabled Lawyers and Clients”).

 

Her community service includes working as a volunteer attorney for the Pro Bono Partnership, an organization that assists nonprofit, community-based organizations with their legal needs. She was Vice President/Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Rowayton Library for six years.

 

Ms. Keating has always been a strong advocate for people with disabilities to help make the world more barrier-free.

 

Moreover, she passionately believes that we must change how we treat the elderly so that we can live out our lives with dignity and respect.
